Our family loves staying at Three Castles and have been coming back year after year. The cottages are clean, charming and comfortable with fully stocked kitchen supplies and excellent views of the water. Korin and Louis have always been so welcoming to us and provide boats and canoes to enjoy the water and get great views of the wildlife. We even saw a bald eagle! Groceries, hardware store, restaurants and ice cream are all nearby in the cute town of Buckhorn.
I have been going to Three Castles for many years. Louis and Korin are wonderful hosts. The cabins are clean and as close to the water as you will find anywhere. It is also the best value in the Kawarthas. Highly recommend!!
The owner is a really, really nice guy and the place is as advertised. It's cottages on the lake, right in town. My family has been going to buckhorn for well over 40 years and this place is a staple of the community. Even when we aren't staying here we ask to launch our boat there (we pay obviously) and like to just say hi to the owner or the staff. That's the type of place this is. It just feels like a cottage home away from home.
This is a yearly trip for me 6yrs and counting. Luis is a good guy, very personable. Even a new bbq at all the cabins. Great location & great fishing. Great even for those with mobility limits. Everything you need is local.Thanks again for a great week
It's hard to believe that the original review is from six years ago so I wanted to give an update. Since that review we continue to go back every year. We have added a family weekend in September and I also have a September weekend with a group of guys. Louis and his family treat us more like family than customers. As long as Louis and his family are there, we won't go anywhere else. Just finishing our 5th year at Three Castles . Leaving tomorrow. Great location and very good fishing. Close to all necessities. Excellent hospitality from the owner Louis and his family. They are the number one reason, of many reasons, that we look forward to coming back each year. Already looking forward to next year.
We have stayed at Three Castles several times and every time it has been perfect: immaculately clean and inviting cabins with everything we needed, beautiful views, and the owners, Korin and Louis Melizan, are incredibly welcoming. The whole experience was perfect from booking to checkout. We will definitely be back!
Louis was an amazing host! We were on a boat trip and had a mechanical issue which caused the need to find a place to stay while our boat was waiting for parts. It was scorching hot and he offered us the Caboose cabin. It was super clean and comfortable and affordable with super convenient location close to basically everything in Buckhorn. He then drove us back to our boat which was a few Km away. I can’t say enough about how we appreciated finding this place.
The hosts here are so amazing! They go our of their way to ensure that all your needs are met and make sure you have a great summer!!! So kind and thoughtful.
